Abstract: Currently, specialized treatment for diseases is increasingly becoming the mainstream in clinical practice. Gastrointestinal surgery, as an important branch of general surgery, has increasingly developed specialized; however, our present gastrointestinal surgeon training system is not yet perfect. The article summarized the problems and challenges in gastrointestinal surgeon training in China based on the situations at home and abroad, and addressed some available gastrointestinal surgeon training protocols in future. We hope this article can be helpful on our country′s gastrointestinal surgeon professional training.
